Hi, I'm Mike, the Expert Math Tutor. About 10 years ago, when I decided to stop pursuing my professional career and do what I believe to be my calling in life, tutoring math, I needed to decide what to call the service I provide.
I was concerned calling myself "Expert Math Tutor" was just too bold a statement. I mean, it really sets the bar high. But since then, I've proven to myself that Expert Math Tutor is fitting. It's an accurate descriptor of my knowledge and understanding of mathematics, and of my ability to impart that knowledge and understanding to students.
I'm very serious about your success. I'm dedicated. The videos on this site are intended to demonstrate depth and range in both my understanding of the material and my ability to deliver instruction. But my dedication goes further. I'm also inspirational, encouraging and supportive. This is what I've chosen to do, and my success depends on your success.
The videos on this website are extremely detailed. Some might say over-detailed. I included substantial detail because, when making videos, I don't have the luxury of an in-person student to read and gauge their understanding. But when I sit with a student, I quickly dial into their level of understanding and adjust my instruction accordingly.
I'm focused on solidifying and adding to students' existing foundation. I do this without coming across as overbearing. I provide a nurturing and collaborative atmosphere that encourages growth. I think this is both an art and a science.
I'm running a service, not a business. Let me explain. My drive is to provide value. My goal is to enable the student to get along without me. I'm not attempting to guide your perception in effort to gain your business and start managing your expectations.
My guarantee is simple: if you're not satisfied with the instruction provided, you don't pay. There's no fee to get started. Weekly scheduling is not required. Get the help you need when you need it.
